Born on 23rd March in Bellano, Italy. Master graduation in Civil Engineering (cum laude) at Politecnico di Milano. Doctoral degree in Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Since 2020, researcher (RTDA) and full lecturer in Water Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Contract lecturer in Water Engineering (2019, 2012-2016) and Hydraulic Structures (2017-2018). Assistant lecturer of “Hydrology” (Since 2014), “Hydrology for Flood Risk Evaluation” (2016-2020), “Water Engineering” (2008-2018), “Fundamentals of Watershed Hydrology and River Restoration” (2017-2018). Co-supervisor of 2 PhD scholarships and supervisor of 18 graduation theses. The main research field is stormwater control and management with particular focus on naturebased solutions and rainwater harvesting, and the modeling by means of analytical-probabilistic approach. Author of about 40 papers published in referred scientific journals and symposium proceedings.
Main research interests are: - analytical probabilistic approaches for the modeling of stormwater detention storages with focus on the possibility of residual storage from previous rainfall events and the relation between probabilistic equations and design parameters, - sustainable urban drainage systems by means of nature-based solutions (green roofs, rain gardens, permeable pavements, …) and rainwater harvesting and reuse for flood risk mitigation in urban areas and pollution reduction of receiving water bodies, - methodologies and approaches for the detection and estimation of illicit flows in the sewers, - role of urban trees as tools for runoff control and management and effects of their use, in combination with other sustainable urban drainage systems (i.e., permeable pavements, rain gardens, …) both for flood risk mitigation and increase their toppling resistance - strategies for non-conventional water supply for sustainable and water resilient cities - advanced models for the optimization of tank management in water supply systems.
